Two Heritage House books shortlisted for Victoria Book Prizes 2022

Heritage House is overjoyed to see two of our Indigenous children's books on the shortlist for the 2022 City of Victoria Children’s Book Prize. The $5,000 prize, now in its 15th year, is awarded to a Greater Victoria author or illustrator for the best children’s book.

Thank you so much to the prize jury and award committee. Our congratulations also to the other shortlisted author, Frances Backhouse, and their publisher, Orca Book Publishers. We look forward to joining the Victoria Book Prizes gala on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 at 7:30 PM at the Union Club with CBC’s Kathryn Marlow as host. The gala will include readings by shortlisted authors and the awarding of the Victoria Book Prizes.
