Edgar A. Kuhn
Edgar Arthur Kuhn was born November 7, 1932, on a farm near Bromhead, Saskatchewan. His family moved to a farm south of Midale, Saskatchewan, where he grew up and graduated from high school. He joined the RCMP in August l952 and was given regimental number 17871. He subsequently served 6 years in British Columbia, 6 years in the Northwest Territories and over 13 years in Saskatchewan. He retired in 1978 with over 25 years of service and was awarded the RCMP Long Service medal. He also worked for 13 years for Saskatchewan Government Insurance as an auto adjuster and licence issuer. Kuhn has written articles on criminal cases for RCMP Quarterly magazine, a book on the life and times of his father and Ellesmere Land: A Mountie in the High Arctic.Although he is not a poet, his interest in collecting police poetry dates back more than 30 years. Edgar and his wife, Claire, have raised five children, have numerous grandchildren and live in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
