Duel Book Launch: Meet Haley Healey & Nikki Bergstresser!

Award nominated author Haley Healey (Her Courage Rises, Kimiko Murakami) and debut author Nikki Bergstresser will be in conversation at Widowseat Books on Saturday, October 18th, 2025.

Haley is releasing the newest addition to the Trailblazing Canadians series, Victoria Chung: A Doctor of Change (October 28th), a picture book of the inspiring true story of Victoria Chung (1897–1966), who pursued her dreams against all odds to become the first female Chinese-Canadian doctor.

Nikki is celebrating her first middle-grade novel, A Promise to Protect (October 14th), where thirteen-year-old Sidney finds purpose and healing following the death of her aunt when she joins an effort to save an old-growth forest.
